The 45 degree 1x1x1 angles are nice, but having a stretched version would make it possible to create some more streamlined geometries. Many people are using the ramps for this situation now, but that is awkward, not armored, and can't be painted the correct colors.
Currently existing technology, Plasma Window is wall of magnetically sealed plasma, that prevents decompression of ship. Similar in looks to Star Treks or Star Wars "force fields" guarding entrances to hangars, it prevents air from escaping, but at the same time it doesn't stop lasers, or physical objects with sufficient kinetic energy, like bullets or ships, so it only purpose is the keep atmosphere in, without protecting ...more »
The current artificial gravity solution is very sloppy and causes problems such as allowing a player to fall off a cliff in space, which is absurd. According to a blog post magnetic boots were experimented with but discarded, however I think the current alternative is worse not better. One good example of magnetic boots working in a game is shattered horizon as seen in several ...more »
Give the user the ability to set the interval in minutes that autosave will run.
The ability to add escape pods to a large ship so that, in an emergency (such as if you're under attack and your thrusters have been destroyed to prevent movement), you can still have a chance of escaping. These pods should be white and small - slightly bigger than your engineer. That way, you have the chance of escaping unseen. These pods could either be set to automatically fly very quickly back to your "home" space ...more »
When you get out of the cockpit of a ship moving at a constant speed the ship flys off into the distance obviously this wouldn't happen in reality, and is a needed fix
The ability to see your player through the glass of the cockpit in 3rd person mode as well as in multiplayer.
This is a tiny feature, But I feel it'd be easy added.
I'd like to see small cracks/larger cracks appear in the small cockpit glass if you hit little rocks or ships/asteroids.
It'd be a tiny feature but it'd be one of those things people appreciate.
Both the front of the cockpit raising if not obstructed, and then a player animation for getting in and or an animation for getting in via the door on the back.
Not an exaggerated one, but it would be pretty cool in situations like crashing ships, or being hit by debris.
Similar and even connected to the gravity system, but where inside the ship you can have an atmosphere generator that pumps air into the ship... which will then fail when the hull is breached, presumably causing doors to automatically seal that sector of the ship.
