ID Cards for Turrets

I have heard a suggestion regarding turrets only firing on enemy factions, but I feel like having only one condition for fire somewhat limiting. My alternative would be that in order to avoid fire from turrets, you must be carrying the appropriate ID card to pass unscathed. Manned turrets

A simple manned turret with a control console inside a ship, and the turret outside would make cruiser battles a lot more fun. the only idea for a manned turret I have currently found is very bulky and awkward when not occupied. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAtRZRflLhs) On a side note, maybe heavy slug rounds for large ships as well?

Spotlight

A spotlight where you can aim anywhere you'd like. Imagine the interior turret, just with a spotlight instead of a gun. Would be awesome if it could be controlled just like a turret would, and the light would follow where you aimed and remained there when exited. Hello engineers! I couldn't find any similar suggestions to this (Correct me if there is), But your feedback would be great.
