it would be cool if there was a top speed higher than 104 Mps (230mph)
Quite simply gives players the opportunity to build ships that can travel at warp or light speed
So I imagine that to work in this way: You build a spaceship with a warp module that uses lots of energy while used. It would consume a big place, because it would be end-game stuff. It could overheat, so you can't warp into the infinite, it depends on the cooling. There would be a material that you have to place into it, and it would be consumed over time. You have to give coordinates to the desired location at a "warp ...more »
So my idea is that when we have our ships built if they're large ships they can have a warp/hyper drive like system where you can go to other peoples quadrants. So you'll have maybe a captains log book or something to communicate with other captains where you can communicate with them and request permission to enter their quadrant. If they do you can go over their to mine in their quadrant or talk to them in a chat or ...more »
Adding on to the customizable suits suggestion, what if we could go beyond cosmetics? Each engineers suit could function differently to meet the needs of different play styles. Soldiers could craft more armor, engineers could craft tethers to anchor themselves to moving ships as they repair and so on. By crafting various upgrades, you can edit your suit and the way you use it, such as crafting ballistic armors to better ...more »
At the moment, traversing the large areas between asteroids is slow. In fact it often feels as if you are not moving at all due to lack of reference. To solve this, client side particles could be added to the game world, which would give the impression of movement. An example of this effect can be seen in elite:dangerous; (see 2:13 for low velocity example) This would definitely ...more »
Selecting a moving ship (or other object) as your inertial dampener's reference point instead of absolute zero, making it easier to move around and dock with moving ships.
We all know that Space Engineers has TONS of features. But who has ever commented on the beauty of the inventory screen? The UI needs a really big overhaul, and I think I know how to do it. It works like this: There are different UIs for every different setting. One for inside a cockpit, one for helmet, and one for when you take your helmet off. Cockpit: This view will display all the speed, ship health status, energy ...more »
