Dedicated Server and essential admin tools. Ban list, white list, etc.
This is an alternative solution to the problem set out here, but it also provides other benefits as well. http://spaceengineerssurgestionbox.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Renewable-Recources/45617-26587 The problem in the above suggestion is that resources will eventually run out, and "renewable" ones wouldn't really be easy to implement (where physics is concerned). I think it would be cool if there were dedicated servers that would have players spawn in an area in creative mode then have like 30 minutes to build (they can "ready up" at anytime by pressing f4) when all players are ready or ran out of time they are switched to survival and all of there buildings are teleported to a designated battleground and battle to the death. the surviving player, or team, wins.
1.Option to set contents of starter/newly spawned player inventory (spawn without tools or with list of components for example).
2. Restrict players from building certain blocks (like turrets or certain modded blocks). Restricted blocks should not show up in the build menu of players, but could exist in a world.
An ownership timeout for multiplayer servers option would enable a more serious survival mode gameplay. There would be an adjustable period of time, where if the server is running the game (not paused) that if a player does not log in during this time frame, all of their item ownership should be surrendered to 'nobody'.
A new server type would allow for a warp gate which essentially allows players to travel between dedicated servers. The server owner could limit the size / complexity of ships and the number of foreign ships allowed in his/her managed server. I number of parameters would have to be set up to prevent someone from sending a giant battleship through lagging out the receivers would. This could facilitate invasions or raids ...more »
A reputation system if you will. If an admin flags you as a griefer, then obviously your steamID gets banned from THAT SERVER, but also any participating servers will add 1 "Griefer point" to that SteamID on their list of SteamIDs. Then server admins can set their reputation tolerance to a certain threshold. If you set it to something like say...5, then you're saying that this person was accused of griefing on 5 different ...more »
