Same Ship Rotors

I personally am sick that the part attached to the rotor HAS to become a different ship. I want to be able to create deploy able landing gear BUT, can't control them because they have become different ship. Creates issues towards creativity.

Shared energy between them would be a minimum if you ask me.

P.S. great job with survival mode

Rotatable trusters

When a thruster is placed on a rotor, it does not behave as expected. It is not considered part of the main ship and doesn't fire automatically when you press forward, back, up, down, left or right. To make it fire, you have to wire it manually to the action bar, leading to an awkward control scheme.

 

Making them fire automatically considering the rotation of the thruster would make VTOL designs a lot easier to fly.

Piston/Rotor Syncronization.

We need to add a synchronization for the pistons and rotors to allow people to utilize multiple pistons and or rotors for large structural movement e.g. A 30x8 Blast door being set into place by, at the very least 4, pistons to even it's movement and avoid shaking. Another example, Rotors that would lower a large door or blast door with rotors on each side of the door to add strength and stability to the "hinges."

Rotor Angle Control

Considering the makings on advanced rotors, I'm amazed this is nowhere to be found. Rotors need to be able to be set to a particular angle. In addition to what they have, rotors need: -Check box to enable/disable angle control -Angle slider -Increase/decrease angle kotkeys -Angle step % slider Behavior: When enabled, rotor angle slider will indicate between angle constraints, or between -180 to 180 degrees if unconstrained. ...more »

Large Rotors

Have you ever cringed seeing a entire engine pod being attached to a 1 block rotor? I have. This is ridiculous. Devs, it's really time to add those 3x3 or 5x5 rotors. These could be very thin, but have a large diameter. This way, the connections are much more solid. They will also be conveyor connected!

Make projectors work with subgrids on pistons / rotors (medium)

Currently if you build anything with pistons or rotors, the other side of the moving part counts as a subgrid. And when you try to build a design like this in survival from a projector, the projector doesn't show the subgrids. The way I'd implement this: when you save the blueprint it does have the subgrids, so the data is there, you could paste in creative.
