When welding a giant structure my eyes can start to sting, this being a game i think we should have the option to replace the white spark with a simple little blue flame instead, or just somthing less intense!
The ability to tag containers within a network to contain specific items or types of items automatically. At the moment sorting must be done manually, or through use of mods.
This functionality could also extend to refineries, allowing players to task individual refineries with the refinement of certain types of ore.

I't would be helpful if you could select if sensors will sense only other factions or only yours or both.
Pretty much as the idea says, Sensor is great but this option is missing
maybe even the difference between Station and Large ship? i also noticed that it detects the large ship its attached to when i rather have it react on other large ships not the one its attached to, maybe this should be optional?
I propose that a system of texture painting be implemented that can change the texture and features of one face of a block. EG, Hangarbay blocks break too easily from force. Using this system, you can paint a texture on it that gives this block face a new set of face specific properties (such as resistance to breakage when forces upon it is under x). its just being able to select the degree angle of a roter instead of just changing torque and hoping you stop at the right angle while turning a roter.
I want the key bindings and sensor options more advanced. say if you had a thruster and a grinder in the same group and you bound it to a key you can tell it to thrust and grind at the same time instead of just on/off options. also having a shoot option for gatling guns and rocket launchers. other advanced options I haven't stated would be helpful.
I love working with planets, buuuuuut The gravity wells are huge and can really slow down the fun. I think they should be smaller or at least adjustable in the map options.

Building within a certain distance of a storage unit automatically gives you access to all the items in it so you don't have to stop what you're doing and grab the things you may have forgotten.
This could be an option that could be enabled or disabled upon creating a new map, since it isn't realistic.
