Currently, there is very little challenge to the game, which is absolutely fine for a creative mode. But when survival is implemented there will need to be something to survive against. This could be done by having some AI Space Engineers that inhabit some asteroids or pre-loaded stations, but not all. Crew Based Multiplayer Gameplay

Seems that a lot of people are focusing on multiplayer where everyone has their own ship but after building a few very large ships I realized how lonely/boring it could end up being.... So I'm suggesting crew station based multiplayer similar to "Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator" where players can control different aspects of the same ship. Co pilot seat

In big ships it would be nice to place some seats that do no allow steering the ship but only allow certain tasks like using some weapons, open doors etc

 

In this way a big ship is realisticly used by many players or a co pilot solving different tasks.

I think this should be very easy to implement.

Multiplayer areas + warping/hyperspace

Multiplayer Idea

So my idea is that when we have our ships built if they're large ships they can have a warp/hyper drive like system where you can go to other peoples quadrants. So you'll have maybe a captains log book or something to communicate with other captains where you can communicate with them and request permission to enter their quadrant. ID Cards for Turrets

I have heard a suggestion regarding turrets only firing on enemy factions, but I feel like having only one condition for fire somewhat limiting. My alternative would be that in order to avoid fire from turrets, you must be carrying the appropriate ID card to pass unscathed.
