The ability to create programs that run on ships which can control any part of it, from doors to guns to thrusters. this would be preferable Lua as it's lightweight and easy to learn.
I want some kind of piston. First example, Minecraft. But! I want to be able to Choose the size of the piston(1 block long or 5 blocks) Combined with Rotors(or purpose swivels) So many possibilities will open up. I'm new to Space Engineers and I'm loving it! I've noticed that the Beacon functionality is somewhat limited and that Antenna functionality is non-existent. Like building stupidly large ships? Tired of filling room after room with gyroscopes? Well here is the solution! Very simple really, I propose a 3x3x3 gyroscope for larger ships. It would require more materials, but provide much more torque. So rather than needing 400 teeny gyros, you could make do with 10 or so of these. The ability to tag containers within a network to contain specific items or types of items automatically. At the moment sorting must be done manually, or through use of mods.
This functionality could also extend to refineries, allowing players to task individual refineries with the refinement of certain types of ore.

At the moment, the only way to control the roll, pitch or yaw of your ship is to use gyroscopes. Gyroscopes are great and all, but filling room after room with them in order to get decent manoeuvrability out of your ship isn't exactly realistic. A simple manned turret with a control console inside a ship, and the turret outside would make cruiser battles a lot more fun. the only idea for a manned turret I have currently found is very bulky and awkward when not occupied. I think this would be useful for making larger small ships, instead of just using the canopy style cockpit. Personally I hate the idea of building armour blocks over my cockpit when making armoured ships/vehicles, I would like to have a seat style one that I can walk to inside. I think having glass panels and Control Stations/Flight Seat style cockpits for small ships would allow for a much more versatile range of designs. ...more »
Now that we have antennas and programming blocks, it would be super cool to enable multiple grids to communicate using antennas or something.
Then you could implement docking autopilot, guided rockets, drone swarms and lots of other cool stuff.
Additional sensor options and increased range would help too...
The difference between 20.1 and 20.2 rpm is insignificant. Meanwhile the difference between 0.1 and 0.2 is critical especially if you have something very long attached to the rotor. A log scale would provide very fine control at low speed without making the slider needless long.
