When in creative mode, building ships in close proximity (or particularly small ships built inside a hanger) is risky, either during normal editing, or panic clicking when a subsection breaks off I often find I accidentally delete (or even add) blocks to nearby ships. I think it would be useful to be able to "Lock" and "Unlock" a ship for editing. They can still be at risk of damage, but whilst locked you wouldn't be ...more »
Similar to the one-click-to-make a block button on the assemblers. How about the same on cargo containers, just that you draw out the components needed for selected block.
This would really help when constructing larger ships using smaller supplier ships. Since finding the correct ammount of components for things like interior blocks or passages can sometimes be a pain.
I like to build ships in creative to see what they will look like. When i play multiplayer, i don't want to leave the game just to build in creative, just to come back and project it.
But with the new projector block, have an option to free build like in creative. This way, it would also be possible to add symmetry to survival.
Would be great if we could set inventory levels for a platform or large ship. Example : Inventory level for Small Steel Tube set to 1000, Steel Plate set to 5000 and NATO rounds set to 500. An engineer builds some blocks reducing the Steel Plate level down to 4500 and the gatling guns fire off at some meteors reducing the NATO rounds to 450. Assemblers automatically start building steel plate and NATO rounds to bring ...more »
If you allowed each large-grid block to be divided into 27(assuming large = 3x3 small) small block sections you could allow direct attachment of small grids to one of 9 faces on each face of a large-grid block. or large-grid blocks off-center to other large-grid blocks.
If this was possible and implemented it would allow much greater control in large-grid block placement as well as very intricately mixed grids.
I think it would be cool if there were dedicated servers that would have players spawn in an area in creative mode then have like 30 minutes to build (they can "ready up" at anytime by pressing f4) when all players are ready or ran out of time they are switched to survival and all of there buildings are teleported to a designated battleground and battle to the death. the surviving player, or team, wins.
Basicly a Block that when you add it to your toolbar a window is shown where you have a 3D Model of your block with 24 dots you can drag. Each dot can only be dragged in 1/2 block steps. If a section is 2D it gets removed. A block can never be just a square, because then it would be an "air" block with no faces. Maybe you could even add a save/load menu, so you don't have to sculpt your blocks over and over again. This ...more »
Are you using mods? Then please read and leave the comment. With increasing number of good mods, I begin to feel lack some management possibilities for mods in world options. There are some features I personally miss the most: Create and save lists of mods - There are hundreds of 'must have' mods, but you usually need to pick just a few of them, when starting a new world. Example: You want to design a capital ship in ...more »
Currently there's that problem if you have a ships with no large holes in the middle, you have no chance of seeing / editing blocks on the inside without stripping down the outer blocks. (especially a problem with small ships) Another game From the Depths provided the solution for this: there's an option (only in creative) to make the blocks appear really small, so that you see gaps between them, therefore you can see ...more »
I got the idea from total annihilation but you would go into this building mode where you build the thing you want then you save it then leave that building mode. (it takes no items to build in this mode) the thing you built disappears after you leave the building mode. then there is a nanolathe tool for the player small ship large ship and station that when you enter its control panel you can select the saved object ...more »
It would be awesome to be able to link ships and tow one with another. I have scoured the internet for this and found no solution. Also attempting to line up two ships to be perfectly in square with eachother is impossible so we cannot use existing build system for this.
