Have you just built a fairly large mining craft and want another to start a fleet? Don't want to spend the time building an identical one from scratch? Yeah, me neither, which is where blueprints come in. Whilst in a ship, you should be able to save a blueprint of the ship under a chosen name. If we can save our ships to a blueprint, it'd also be great to see an automated ship-repair functionality that would put work into reverting your ship to its blueprint shape. So, look at it this way: you've just escaped from combat, you've just dented your ship in an asteroid field, or you're crawling away from a battle you just won with heavy damage taken. Blueprints are already in progress, so wouldn't it be great to save those in extern files? For example you have build a nice ship, station or whatever and you want to share this with your friends. You could also import your buildings into a new world.
It could be similar to the schematic files from minecraft (worldedit) if you know what I mean.
A button in the projector menu that can be accessed using creative mode that immediately completes the projected blueprint, if nothing is in the way. It would definitely save a lot of time and hassle for those of us who want to easily generate an armada of awesome ships.
A scanner block that detects all ships in range. A ship could then be selected and copies it's blueprint in a computer block as a scan. Easier upload of thumbnails of published items in Steam Workshop, because as far I know you have to prepare thumbnail BEFORE uploading item, which is REALLY annoying.
