The 45 degree 1x1x1 angles are nice, but having a stretched version would make it possible to create some more streamlined geometries. Many people are using the ramps for this situation now, but that is awkward, not armored, and can't be painted the correct colors.
It would be very useful if we could paint only 1 side of a block
atm we cant paint 2 rooms next to each other in different colors without making the wall 2 blocks big
This should be a very easy to make feature but will result in much better designs.
More construction block types like:
Round angle: just a 1/4 circle angle block
Cylinder: a cylindrical block
Round corner: a 1/4 sphere
Concave version of the above
Post your new block ideas in the comments. The more block types, the more awesome designs!!!
You know how its way to easy to grind other bases in multiplayer and is way to easy for a new player to deal damage to your base even with turrets? this block would be able to protect a small area around your base/ship at the cost of enormous amount of power but would prevent easy griefing, destroying, and ramming that currently happens in multiplayer. nothing but faction members+ allies would be able to enter and leave. ...more »
Like building stupidly large ships? Tired of filling room after room with gyroscopes? Well here is the solution! Very simple really, I propose a 3x3x3 gyroscope for larger ships. It would require more materials, but provide much more torque. So rather than needing 400 teeny gyros, you could make do with 10 or so of these. It's dead simple, easy to implement, and a great help to those of us who love building inordinately ...more »
The ability to tag containers within a network to contain specific items or types of items automatically. At the moment sorting must be done manually, or through use of mods.
This functionality could also extend to refineries, allowing players to task individual refineries with the refinement of certain types of ore.
Title says it all. Non volatile data storage devices accessible from the new programmable blocks.
These would allow users to save data for later use and/or make data available to multiple scripts.
At the moment, the only way to control the roll, pitch or yaw of your ship is to use gyroscopes. Gyroscopes are great and all, but filling room after room with them in order to get decent manoeuvrability out of your ship isn't exactly realistic. I propose a new type of thruster block, which unlike the existing ones, would apply torque to your ship. They would be mapped onto the same keys as pitch, roll & yaw are, and ...more »
Give programable block ablility to read keys pressed in cockpit, flight seat...etc.
So players could use keypress to controll systems via programable block.
keyboard or at least: W, A, S, D, Space, Alt, Ctrl...
also addition of cycles would be good
windows are amazing and great aways to improve our ships but they are so complex becouse we have interior and exterior sides. its enlarge a lot the number of windows we has
if we have a key to invert then like 'i' or some other its will reduce a large number of windows and turn our construcions more easy
A "dead" block used to isolate a portion of a platform from the electrical grid and computer network. Sometimes when I am dissembling a captured ship, I prefer to store some assemblies as complete assemblies (i.e. thrusters, reactors, gravity generators, refineries, etc.) rather than completly tearing them down and rebuilding them later from a "recipe" of parts. For large parts, such as refineries or large thrusters, ...more »
The idea is to create a block, similar to the Timer Block, but used to set simple conditions, qbasic style: If Then Else It can be created like the Timer block, the user can just set it and enter different instances for the If, Then and Else parameters The parameters should cover several preset instances like the already familiar 'Turn of/On', 'Increase Breaking force' and Entering and Exiting the Sensor Fields and ...more »
